New England Patriots’ Adalius Thomas Wears Pink for Komen
New “Humble Pie” Shirts Will Raise Money for Breast Cancer Education and Research
Pink Shirts will Kick Off Thomas’ Partnership with Massachusetts Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Boston, Mass., January 31, 2008 — New England Patriots’ linebacker Adalius Thomas is partnering with The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Massachusetts Affiliate ® to raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.
A portion of sales from a new, pink version of Thomas’ popular “Humble Pie” T-shirts will be donated to fund local breast cancer education and research. Fans can purchase the shirts directly through Thomas’ Web site ( www.adalius96.com ) for just $29.99.
“Adalius Thomas has proven himself a leader on and off the field – we’re thrilled that he’s lending his talent, support, and ‘Humble Pie’ attitude to such and important cause,” said Miriam May, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
In addition to donating profits from the T-shirts, Thomas and his family are founding a “Humble Pie” team for the September 2008 Komen Massachusetts Race for the Cure, and inviting all fans who care about the cause to join their efforts to tackle breast cancer.
“Breast cancer is an issue that affects everyone in our community, and I want to give people a fun way to make a difference in the fight for a cure,” said Thomas. “I hope that fans will wear their pink shirts with pride and join me and my family in our support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.”
